Infrastructure that Paces Growth
Growth should not outpace the ability to support it, but that is exactly what we have seen. The South, particularly Upstate South Carolina has become a preferred destination for many businesses creating an economic boom on one hand, yet alternatively a mound of frustration on the other.
Dexter feels your pain in traffic bottlenecks creating increased travel times to work, crumbling bridges and roads creating increased auto repairs and diminished green space leading to wildlife displacement and less areas for families to enjoy the beauty of the Upstate. Not only that, but we, especially our teachers, first responders and hospitality and service workers are being priced out of the very market they have committed to serve.
With his executive nonprofit experience, Dexter knows how to manage large budget and demand accountability. As your candidate, Dexter will:
Protect Neighborhood Quality of Life: Implement smart zoning and land‑use policies that balance growth with the character and needs of existing communities.
Coordinate Growth With Infrastructure Capacity: Require new developments to align with available road, water, sewer, and public safety capacity—no more building faster than our systems can handle.
Modernize Roads & Traffic Flow: Prioritize upgrades to major corridors, intersections, and neighborhood streets to reduce congestion and improve commute times.
Plan for Long‑Term Sustainability: Use data‑driven planning to anticipate future population growth and ensure Greenville’s infrastructure is ready for the next decade—not just the next project.
