As a Detention Officer with the Greenville County Detention Center, Police Officer and Boot Camp Director with the City of Greer Police Department, Deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office and County Constable, with Greenville County Summary Court. Dexter has been a steady, compassionate presence in strengthening neighborhoods and helping families navigate challenges with dignity and support. His career in law enforcement shaped his belief in hard work, integrity, and the power of strong community connections — values that continue to guide him today.Dexter’s commitment to service extends far beyond law enforcement as he has served as Executive Director of Pleasant Valley Connection, Inc. and an Intervention Specialist with the Greenville County School District. In these roles, he advocates for families, supports youth development, and works to expand opportunities for underserved communities. Residents often describe him as a leader with a “heart of gold,” a testament to his compassion and hands‑on approach.A proud graduate of Latta High School, Dexter earned a bachelor's degree from Benedict College and later completed a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry at North Greenville University. Dexter is also the founder of S~R `Executive Services, LLC, providing professional, reliable security and private investigations services to organizations across the State. He remains deeply engaged in civic and community organizations, including the Mu Pi and Phi Alpha Chapters of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Tuscan Lodge #21, the Greenville Benedict College Alumni Club and OneSpartanburg.His commitment to people and his passion for service have earned him deep respect across law enforcement, education, and nonprofit leadership.

Dexter is committed to ensuring that taxpayer dollars first and foremost provide every child with a high-quality public education. By prioritizing robust funding for our public classrooms, we can then find fair, transparent, and equitable ways to support educational choice without compromising the stability of our local schools.Supporting public schools and respecting parental choice are not opposing goals. Every child deserves a path to success, regardless of their ZIP code, and families deserve the freedom to choose the educational path that best fits their child. The South, particularly Upstate South Carolina has become a preferred destination for many businesses creating an economic boom on one hand, yet alternatively a mound of frustration on the other.Dexter feels your pain in traffic bottlenecks creating increased travel times to work, crumbling bridges and roads creating increased auto repairs and diminished green space leading to wildlife displacement and less areas for families to enjoy the beauty of the Upstate. Not only that, but we, especially our teachers, first responders and hospitality and service workers are being priced out of the very market they have committed to serve.With his executive nonprofit experience, Dexter knows how to manage large budget and demand accountability.
